ABOUT Dr. U. GANAPATHY SANKAR


Dr.U.Ganapathy Sankar is a pediatric Occupational therapist who brings 12 years of experience to Kids Therapy Center. He received Bachelor of Occupational Therapy degree from The Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University and received Master of Occupational Therapy in paediatrics from SRM University. He received Doctoral degree (Ph.D) in Paediatric Occupational Therapy from SRM University. He is a First Ph.D holder in Paediatric Occupational Therapy in India. He is a Certified Sensory Integration Therapist (USA).

He presented scientific paper related to Autism, ADHD, Learning disability, sensory Integration Therapy, Neuro developmental therapy and cerebral palsy etc in various National and International conferences. His scientific paper has been published in various National and International peer reviewed journals. He has received Best paper presentation award for his Excellency in research in Clinical Research workshop. He has received Appreciation award for his research work in the field of Paediatric Occupational Therapy during teacher day function in 2012 and 2013 at SRM University.He is editorial board member in Indian Journal of Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy. He plays significant role as reviewer for various National and International Journals.He is strong supporters of evidence based practice and provides continuing education for therapists. This allows our therapist to maintain updated, progressive and eclectic approaches in their treatment.

Dr.Ganapathy Sankar enjoys working with families as a team and finds it very important to involve parents in the Occupational therapy process from start to finish. Parents are not only impressed with his warm and caring way with their children, but also his vast clinical knowledge and reasoning skills. He has a very unique approach to Occupational therapy and finds it crucial to not only understand the physical and mental state of the child, but the child as a whole. He combines many treatment techniques and philosophies and tailors a unique protocol for each child. Even though two children may present with similar impairments, each individual responds to care very differently. He is most satisfied when he can assist children in reaching functional goals and ultimately improve their quality of life.
