NDT is provided to facilitate normal motor development (movement patterns) and postural reactions through handling and facilitation techniques while abnormal movement patterns & reflex activity are inhibited. The therapist adjusts the amount of handling and challenges the child to attain more normal postures and function as postural control increases.
It can be used to modulating muscle tone and promoting proximal joint stability, co-contraction and improving hand function for hand writing difficulty (Dysgraphia) children.
